As part of NeMLA's commitment to the teaching and study of foreign languages, there are active caucuses in four modern languages. In addition to assuring that there are quality panels offered each year, each caucus generally sponsors special events and receptions during the conference. Currently, NeMLA supports the work of these language caucuses:

The NeMLA Graduate Student Caucus welcomes participation by all NeMLA members who are pursuing a graduate degree. The Caucus offers graduate students an arena in which to socialize, share ideas, and learn about some of the professional demands of an academic career—such as publishing, delivering conference papers, writing grant proposals, and going on job interviews.
Representative: Grace Wetzel
The NeMLA Women's Caucus welcomes members interested in feminist scholarship, women's studies, and the status of women in the profession. The Caucus organizes panels, promotes publication, and fosters the establishment of networks linking senior and junior faculty. CONCERNS, the quarterly journal of WCML, contains scholarly articles, personal essays, news of conferences, research in progress, and jobs.
